truth so remember to bring suitable clothing.

pizzerias and so on.
Shopping
Woollen sweaters You can
buy most products in the Faroe Islands although the supply is
not as large as in other countries. The price is slightly higher
than in for example Denmark.
If you want to buy something special to take home we can
recommend ex. at Faroese woollen sweaters or other handcrafts by
wool. There are several shops in Tórshavn which sell handmade
art craft and woollen clothes.

there are also many artists - painters and musicians. You can
visit the many galleries or the local music shop Tutl which only
sell Faroese music, both old and modern Faroese music. Here are some of the

There are taxies available in
Tórshavn. It costs about 70 - 100 DKK for a ride. They don't
operate with taximeter but fixed prize. The busses in Tórshavn
are free but if you want to travel from Tórshavn to
another city you have to buy a ticket.
In the Faroes most families have
their own car. If you don't have a car there is a good
network of public busses available. However from the Hotel
Føroyar there is no public transport available. You can walk to
the city, it will take you approximately 10-15 min., a little
bit longer back home because it is uphill.
Average temperature The Faroese weather can be very variable. In one day, it can
change from sunshine and blue clouds in the morning, into strong
wind, storm and rain in the early afternoon, and then again
sunshine just before the sun goes down. The Gulf Stream means
that the average temperature is +3C in the winter and
+11C in the summer. But it feels warmer, when the sun is
shining. June is one of the prettiest months of the year to
visit the Faroe Islands.
The
local Faroes people often use these webcams to check out where
the sun is shining. If for example it is foggy in Tórshavn, you
can go on this webpage to see if you can find sunny weather
somewhere else.
